Fun Stuff

Over the past 5 years Dr. Stilwill has volunteered at The Potter Park Zoo to help out our furry friends! Here are some of the pictures from the zoo.

The Lion

While playing and “hunting” for food at the zoo the lion fractured her tooth and needed root canal therapy completed to help save her tooth. The lion was sedated for several medical procedures and Dr. Stilwill was able to work on the lion while she was sleeping. This is the closest he will ever be to a lion!

Red Panda

The Red Panda needed help with its tooth as well. Dr. Stilwill completed root canal treatment for this little guy.

Oscar the Otter

Oscar the Otter was 5 years old and Dr. Stilwill's first animal he helped out at the zoo. Zoo workers saw Oscar's injured tooth and started looking for someone who could help out. After researching how to apply his skills to an animal, Dr. Stilwill volunteered to help out. A link to the original article in the Lansing State Journal can be found at this link: Oscar the Otter
